Pure Tussar Saree (also spelled Tasar or Tussah) is a type of silk saree made from the silk of wild silkworms found mainly in forested areas of India, especially in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and parts of West Bengal.
Slightly rough and crisp, yet soft on the skin.
Usually in natural shades – beige, cream, honey, and golden tones. Takes dye well for vibrant designs.
Often hand-painted, embroidered, or block-printed with traditional motifs (tribal, Madhubani, Kantha, or Shantiniketan styles).
Lightweight and breathable – ideal for Indian climates.
